One of my favorite recipe is this delicious Cajun Shrimp Pasta, I am a fan of pasta but this recipe takes it to another level. Not to say how extremely easy it is to make, and also it want take to much of your time. Also you don”t need that much of ingredients. And most likely your entire family will love it, my kid is always asking me for more.
This recipe is ideal for a quick and delicious dinner. First you will need to boil the pasta with a bit of salt, take care that you don’t over cook them. You can chose the kind of pasta that you like. When they are ready, drain the pasta and keep 1/2 cup of the water, we will use it later if the sauce is to thick.
When you cook the shrimps take care that you don’t crowd to much the skillet, so they have enough space to be cooked properly. Another advice in cooking the shrimps is that you don’t turn them more then once or you will risk to cut them in tiny peaces.
The sauce is also quiet simple you just have to bring the heavy cream to boil and then add the parmesan cheese. As I told you before to put aside a little bit of water from the pasta in case you need to thin out the sauce, but don’t put to much from the start just take it tablespoon by tablespoon.
Cajun Shrimp Pasta is a delicious main course and you can easily enjoy it just like that or you can add something light next to it like asparagus or a green salad.
If you are wondering about the kind of shrimps you need to use I will suggest the bigger one so you can feel the taste better and also are easier to cook. But go ahead and chose the kind you like the best.
Cajun Shrimp Pasta
- 8 ounces pasta
- 1 pound raw shrimp
- 2 tbsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- Boil the water in a large saucepan with a teaspoon of salt. When the water starts to boil, put the pasta to boil. Drain the pasta and put aside 1/2 cup of water.
- In a bowl put the shrimp, cajun seasoning and olive oil and combine.
- In a large skillet melt the butter then add the shrimp, cook until golden on each side, do not overcrowd. After they are cooked remove them from the skillet and put them on a plate.
- Now add the cream and allow it to bubble. Reduce the heat and add the parmesan cheese. After the cheese has melted add the before cooked pasta and shrimp and stir. If you think that the sauce is to thick add pasta water that we put aside but be careful and add one tablespoon at a time.
